Question by kyuriyus: my 14 month old toddler is, i guess bored most part of the day?
this is our first kid and both me and my husband work full time. My parents who stay with us look after my son. I work from home most of the days and take an hour break in the afternoon most days to play with him. We have toys for him (not many) and he is usually interested in playing with household stuff and the house is pretty much child proof. However, i find him not very happy most part of the day. He wants to play only with me. He gets bored and whines with my parents to play sometime with one toy and soon with another. He is very happy when he is taken out but we can do that only in the evenings (weather is quite hot for afternoon outings for him with my parents and our house doesnt have a garden). Is there something that my parents can do and he is better occupied? Is few hours in a day-care centre better for him with company of other children?

I do think u should put him in a daycare part-time because he would have other kids to play with and develop his social skills also

Question by Rox: im bored, what shold i do?
im really depressed
i usually am
and im bored
and if i ask my parents what i should do when im bored, they “clean your room or read a book”
and it makes me want to shoot myself
and if i ask them What should i do thats FUN? they tell me the same thing.

my interests are:
drawing
painting
snowboarding
figure skating
solitaire
hugs
kisses
chocolate
camp fires
swimming
hanging out
making jewelry
doing crazy, life-threatening stunts
eating
listening to music
jumpimping on trampolines
slip n’ slides
babysitting

but i cant/dont feel like doing any of those

Question by soulflower.: My puppy is bored! (Chocolate Labrador)?
He’s an 8-week old Chocolate Lab. He’s not really interested in going outside much. He’ll run around with me for a little bit but doesn’t really understand what we’re doing. We have squeaky toys and balls. He’ll play around with the squeaky toy for a little bit but again, bored. He doesn’t understand the concept of catch yet so he’s no interested. He has a stuffed animal that he rips to shreds but again doesn’t occupy him for very long. I understand that he is a puppy so easily bored, but are there any other tips for helping him to stay occupied?

Start his training. It will encourage his focus on you at an early age and you will already have basics when he starts going out into the “world”. By ten weeks, mine had already learnt sit and down. This is a great time to teach them as they soak up everything like a sponge. And it will wear him out mentally as well. Training is a great bonding tool – possibly more so than playing together. Short periods at a time, keep them light and fun with lots of praise.
