I feel like they care. I’m not a “huggy” person unless I’m sad or depressed or angry about something and then i feel like whoever hugs me cares about how I feel.
people hug cause it feels good and the step right before kissing, so hugging can be done with friends as well, not just with people that are going out/married/might be going out

Well it depends who is hugging me. I’m not a touchy person. If it is someone I am romantically involved with, hugs are passionate and a very nice experience. If it’s my mom I feel like a child in her arms, and it’s a bonding thing. friends is a friendly hug, not personal
I only hug people i’m close to or if someone is talking to me and they are upset about something, then i’ll rub their back and give them a hug. Otherwise i’m only a huggy person with my boyfriend.
I don’t really like being hugged & yet, since the last 10 years, I seem to be expected to hug everyone. For example, I hate it that my friends always do it when we meet. And last weekend I met some friends of a friend of mine and after we left, I had to hug all of them! I find it all completely unnecessary and a bit fake, if I’m honest. I mean, I am never going to see any of those women again probably!
I’m not a hug person, unless it is my boyfriend. I’ll hug you when I see you, and I’ll hug you when I leave, but if one of my friends just hangs on me for twenty minutes, I will be extremely annoyed. I will initiate hugs on occasion, but I’m good with a “bye”.

I feel sort of weird shaking a girls hand.
Guys have told me that I have a really strong grip, so maybe I’m a little self conscious.
