How do I find an old romance novel from the mid-to late 1980s?

Check out Ebay. They’re likely to have it.
If I were you, I’d go to Amazon, and do a search by subject. . . like if it was set in a certain time, you could search “medieval fiction” or if the heroine was a nurse, search “nurse, fiction”.
Without a title, author etc. that is about all you can do.
